so usually i’m not the one who comes away from an intense concert with battle wounds. typically flower has destroyed her fingers in an horrific manner, and moises has fallen down during a song at least once. the last two concert nights have been a little different. i have come away with a small but deep gash on my middle finger. last week i didn’t know how i got it. this week, however, i figured out that what it boils down to is that i shouldn’t play with a pick until i actually know what i’m doing with it. turns out i’m not hitting the string with the pick so much as i’m hitting it with my knuckle. so i think i should stop using a pick. i am a bass player after all. anyway, here’s proof:

on a side note for tonight, i’m really worried about my brothers and sister sometimes. i guess stuff’s been pretty crazy last night. i guess it’s just weird to care so much about people you don’t really know. new experience for me.
song for tonight: “i’m a long way from home” by shooter jennings from the walk the line soundtrack
