christian art

i’m going to take a bold stance here and say it shouldn’t exist. art is art no matter who it appears to glorify. God was generous to us with the gift of creativity and we bless Him with our use of it. being that he was also generous with the gift of free will, not everyone knows that we worship him with our use of it.

(*i went ahead and edited this middle paragraph out because after reading back, it came out so much harsher than i had originally planned. i was trying to make a point about art not needing a qualifier to make it palatable, especially art that is trying so hard to point to God. this paragraph came out way too harsh, especially after writing the post that preceded this. my apologies)

most of the time, all i do is bitch about this stuff and leave it at that, but something’s changed in me. i’m honestly going to begin to putting art in the world one little piece at a time. maybe, just maybe, those pieces will start to form a mosaic that could touch someone who’s as frustrated as me. it may take me my whole life, but i’m going to try. i need to. i have to. i’m not out to change the world or anything. i’d be content changing myself and whoever will listen, or read, or see.

song for the moment: “track 19” by daniel dixon

p.s. this is the first time i’ve written two posts in a day. don’t really know what got into me. i’ll try to write something funny next time. any topic ideas?
