i’m starting to be convinced that all the people who live on my street are either Jewish or Jehovah’s Witness. as far as i can see down either side of the street there is only one house with Christmas lights. it’s not my house. we’re just as bad as everyone else on this street in terms of apparent lack of enthusiasm about Christmas. in fact, we have absolutely zero decorations up. to put it mildly, Christmas really snuck up on us this year. we missed most of the anticipatory prep time from being in europe those three weeks and we’ve had a couple of large irons in the fire since then. i’m ok without the decorations, but surprisingly amanda is, too. usually christmas is a much bigger deal with her.

it’s funny, i think we’re both very content with what’s going on in our lives right now. on top of that, i think we both have very different views on the meaning of Christmas after our experience at church last year. i’ll have to expand on both those thoughts some other time though.
