A small list of things I’m looking forward to doing with my son over the next 10 years or so (in as close to chronological order as I can imagine).

– Us looking at each other for the first time.
– The first unassisted successful diaper change.
– The first successful night with just the two of us at home while Amanda’s at work.
– Teaching him how to crawl, stand, and walk.
– Hearing those first words.
– Watching him chase my dumb little cat around the house.
– Making him Kraft Mac and Cheese for the first (and probably only) time.
– Talking to him about his first day of school.
– Finding out what kind of music he likes, and seeing if he develops any interest in playing something like his old man.
– Being interested and involved with whatever he ends up being into.
– Us being good men to Amanda together.

Things I’m not particularly looking forward to over the the next ten years.

-Him probably being taller than me.
