I didn’t post yesterday. #Novemberblogfestfail.

Anyway, for the past hour I’ve been looking at this. That is a chart, a very large one, that basically breaks down all the money everywhere. Seriously, all of it. It is absolutely fascinating. It’s fascinating to see how much money is currently tied up just in student loans (almost a trillion dollars), how the federal budget is broken down, how much World War 2 cost in 2011 dollars (about $4 trillion), or what the annual cost of rabbit ownership comes out to. Oddly enough, it costs about $35 more to own a rabbit than a dog per year.

I’ve been really trying to avoid any political discussion whatsoever, but one of the most shocking things displayed on this chart is the amount of money that gets donated to political candidates and also what the average net worth of a Senator or Representative is worth, especially when you compare it to the median US household income. It just makes me wonder how much they could really represent you or I, the non-multimillionaire.
